Oprah Winfrey’s people announced yesterday (in dramatic all-caps fashion) that she will be interviewing the hostages taken by James Jay Lee at Discovery Communication’s HQ two weeks ago.

“FIRST TELEVISION INTERVIEW: DISCOVERY HEADQUARTERS HOSTAGES COME FORWARD” on “The Oprah Winfrey Show” Thursday, Sept. 16.

“Weeks after a gunman burst into Discovery [Communications] headquarters with explosive devices strapped to his body, the hostages speak for the first time. Tune in on Thursday, September 16, 2010 to ‘The Oprah Winfrey Show’

As we now know, Lee had been displeased with Discovery’s programming for several years and sought earlier through protest to change what he viewed as shows that were harmful to the planet. He was later shot and killed by police after reportedly pointing a gun at one of the hostages.
