Harnessing the power of YouTube, the Sea Shepherd have launched a new online contest to search for a “Whale Warrior” eager to join them on their next anti-whaling campaign in the Antarctic.

“Join us for a three-month adventure off the coast of Antarctica as a crewmember on one of our ships as we hunt down and intercept illegal Japanese whaling ships in our battle to save endangered and protected whales in the Southern Ocean Whale Sanctuary,” the contest page reads. “The entries will be judged for originality, humor, and creativity. These are traits we highly value in our volunteers.”

The winner of the contest, selected by Captain Watson, will join the SS on Operation No Compromise leaving from Australia in early December. There are also gift cards to the Sea Shepherd store for second and third place winners. Check out Watson discussing the contest after the jump — or hit the SS site for more details.
