The current article you are reading does not reflect the views of the current editors and contributors of the new Ecorazzi

If Ecorazzi put together a celebrity all-star team, America’s Next Top Model judge and Beauty Equation author Nigel Barker would certainly be on the roster. And this is just one of the reasons why:

Last week, Barker officially signed on to work with the United Nations Foundation’s Girl Up campaign — an initiative that enables American girls to make a global impact by raising funds and awareness for proven UN programs that help some of the world’s hardest-to-reach adolescent girls.

The campaign, which kicked off in New York City, will reach out to young girls across the United States as it travels the country on a “Unite for Girls” tour.

“As the father of a young daughter and son, I can attest to the undeniable power and spirit of today’s youth,” Barker said. “The unique ‘for girls, by girls’ approach of the Girl Up campaign harnesses the enthusiasm of girls in this country to help ensure every girl – no matter where she is born – is educated, healthy, safe, counted and positioned to be a part of the next generation of leaders.”

Besides the Girl Up campaign, Barker also works closely with the Elizabeth Glaser Pediatric AIDS Foundations, Humane Society of the United StatesMake-A-Wish Foundation and Fashion Targets Breast Cancer.

That’s what we’re talking about! All-star list, baby. All-star list!
