Using sex appeal to get your message across is nothing new advertising — but can it sell solar panels?

That’s the idea behind a new calendar called “Renewable Girls” featuring ladies in skimpy bikinis while posing next to solar panels in various forms. According to Sami Grover over on Treehugger, the calendar is meant to “shift the public perception of renewable energy away from left leaning or crunchy” but instead comes off as “hackneyed” and “cliched”.

It’s true — some of these are absolutely ridiculous. See a few more examples below to draw your own conclusions. Tastes may vary.
