Inhabitat has a cute photo gallery of the Hobbiton film set in New Zealand; which up until a few months ago was home to sheep and tourists.

Now that “The Hobbit” has been given the green light to start production, we’re pretty sure Peter Jackson has kicked this furry fellow out of The Shire. In fact, according to these pics, it looks like a Middle Earth is once more coming back to life. No doubt, once filming wraps, the sheep will get their hobbit holes back.

Great green architecture. Great house to live, although could do with a window in the roof. Excellent isolation, cheap to build. Move on sheep, Uncle Herwin is moving in !
