Back in 2009, PETA honored “Fable II”, a role-playing videogame for the XBox 360, with a Proggy Award for it’s animal-friendly content. “Fable II is a vegetarian’s dream come true,” wrote the org. “In this virtual fight between good and evil, characters powered by tofu are just as powerful as their meat-eating counterparts–and are more fit and attractive to boot.”

The third game in the series gets released this week — but we know little over whether or not those vegetarian bonus points will carry over into this new version. Perhaps poking a bit of fun, however, at their animal-friendly label, the designers crafted an opening sequence featuring a chicken that succeeds in surviving many a dire situations — only to meet an untimely end at the hands of a gun-wielding chef. Check it out after the jump below.
