Calling all eco-minded, music lovin’ Angelenos! Max Lugavere’s charitable concert Rockdrive, this December 11 at the Troubador in West Hollywood, is pretty much the hippest thing that’s happened to public education since…

Well, maybe education reform has never been as sexy as, say, adopting Namibian babies. But now it is!

Do-gooder hotties Max Lugavere, and his Current TV partner-in-crime Jason Silva are passionate about helping Los Angeles public schools – and they have excellent taste in music. Hipster ladies, do I have your attention?

This year’s Rockdrive features an eclectic group of bands, from alt rocker Aqualung to soulful singer/songwriter Sara Haze. Other artists playing Rockdrive are Josiah Leming, Aaron Tap, Angel Taylor, Hope, the Davey G. Project, John West, Of Verona (love!), Cary Brothers, and Terra Naomi.

If you’re all like “never heard of ‘em,” consider that Colette Weintraub, who helped to create Bono’s RED campaign is helping to organize Rockdrive. You know who Bono is, right?

Most importantly, proceeds from Rockdrive go to Communities in Schools, an organization that works to keep kids in school, and The Story Project, an after-school literacy program for at-risk youth.

Ready to attend Rockdrive? Get your tickets here. Then show up at the Troubador at 7PM on December 11. Awesome evening guaranteed.

PS – if you don’t live in LA, you can start your own Rockdrive here.
