Celebrities Encourage Non-Jews To Support The American Jewish World Service
Rocking a Catholic mother and Jewish father, my religious checkbox remains forever empty. But that doesn’t mean I shouldn’t support the American Jewish World Service (AJWS)…or so the celebrities tell me.
Comedy director Judd Apatow and writer Jordan Rubin have created a star-studded PSA for the AJWS — an organization that is dedicated to alleviating poverty, hunger and disease among the people of the developing world regardless of race, religion or nationality.
Billed as absolutely not approved by the AJWS (but suspiciously being aired on their homepage), the video features stars like Lindsay Lohan, Susan Sarandon, and Tracy Morgan — all of whom are asking for your support.
“AJWS was a major responder to the Indian Ocean Tsunami, supporting 82 grassroots organizations over the last 5 years with more than 11 million dollars raised from 42,000 donors,” says Kiefer Sutherland.
Helen Hunt adds, “I support this organization because it fosters civil society, sustainable development, and human rights for all people.”
With 25 years of experience in the field, we think this organization sounds pretty cool. Wanna know more? Check out the video below and stop by AJWS.org to find out how you can get involved!
