When it comes to finding the perfect companion animal, we believe the best choice is always to adopt. And so does actress Denise Richards!

This past weekend, Richards spent some quality time at the La Brea Tar Pits in Los Angeles, California for an adoption event put on by the Best Friends Animal Society — the nation’s largest sanctuary for abused and abandoned animals.

Richards brought along her two daughters Sam, 6, and Lola, 5, who, from the pictures, seemed to have had a great time.

On her official Twitter page, Richards writes:

“great event for Best Friends animal Society @BFAS thank you to everyone who came out and supported the event. my girls loved it!!”

Stop by BestFriends.org to find out more about the groovy organization. Also, make sure to scoot by StarPulse.com to view pictures from the event!
