Want to prepare a delicious plant-based, planet-healthy Thanksgiving dinner but don’t know where to start? Fear not! Ellen DeGeneres wants to help.

Last week on her show, Ellen welcomed personal chef Roberto Martin to teach everyone how to make a scrumptious vegan Thanksgiving dinner.

During the segment, Chef Martin prepared a faux turkey roast with wild mushroom gravy and paired it with vegan stuffing, mashed sweet potatoes, and cranberry sauce. Of course, Thanksgiving dinner wouldn’t be complete without a dairy-free pumpkin cheesecake.

As Ecorazzi previously reportedDeGeneres is the 2010 spokesperson for Farm Sanctuary’s Adopt-A-Turkey Project — an annual program that educates the public and offers a compassionate alternative for Thanksgiving.

Says DeGeneres, “Save a life this Thanksgiving, and join me in starting a new tradition by adopting a turkey instead of eating one through Farm Sanctuary’s Adopt-A-Turkey Project.”

Check out the segment below and stop by Ellen’s site to get all of Chef Martin’s delicious holiday recipes!

Can ANYONE please explain how Ellen can simultaneously be super-vegan AND promote Covergirl cosmetics (a well known animal tester)? I’ve tried going directly through her website & I’ve never gotten a response… Does anybody have any info on this paradox? I WANT to like her…I’m just baffled at the support of vivsection.

Thanks, Angela for bringing up a subject that is a bit “taboo”. I have had many conflicting thoughts about Ellen and her “paradoxical” ways as well. Last year she did a commercial bit on some ice cream product that involved a give-a-way for the audience. It was real cute with Andy and other members of her,”gang” but I couldn’t help thinking, “hey wait a minute”. Her occasional jokes about “jell-o shots” also pique my attention. She probably justifies it with her generosity and positivity, but I think she is weaving herself a tangled web that may give critics of the vegetarian and vegan lifestyle much fodder. Someone in her position can easily be scrutinized if they are not “walking their talk”.

well, mabee shes vegan for a healthy lifestyle, hell Im not vegan, but thanks to ellen Im going to have turkey loaf stuff tonight instead of a cute n cuddly calf. Do you always stalk her and take notes on her shortcomings? get a life besides critiquing others lives
