Jennifer Lopez is adding a lot of new gigs to her resume, including being the new judge for American Idol and national spokesperson for the Boys & Girls Clubs of America.

The announcement came in Los Angeles yesterday, at the 20th Anniversary Ceremony of the organization’s name change from “Boys Clubs” to “Boys & Girls Clubs of America.” It was there that Denzel Washington, a spokesperson for BGCA since 1992, announced Lopez will join him as the first female national spokesperson. Her appointment marks the first time in the organizations 104-year history that this key role has been expanded to two people.

The 41-year-old singer and actress, known for her roles in Selena and Monster-in-Law, spoke to the crowd and said, “Join us in helping kids be great and attain great futures.”

Congrats!

Sorry, not interested in Jennifer Lopez gossip on Ecorazzi, unless it’s that she’s stopped wearing legions of animals every week.

Seconded. Why, exactly, is this story on here?

      • melissa

thirded; she is one of the worst celebs as far as cruelty to animals go…that’s why i couldn’t care less what she does for kids

I “fourth” that thought!! This story has no place on this site. Did she vow to give up fur or become vegan?? No! Ok then, next story please!

Is she like trying to seem human or perhaps trying to be likable?

  • don miguelo

Well, I guess Boys and Girls Club does have human animals…technically they qualify but that’s stretching it a bit i think!

Is she going to kick off this Anniversary in a fur coat like she does most events (at LAX, or New Years Eve shows, her own fashion line, etc…?) Do a quick Google search if you don’t believe it.

Kick Jenny off the Block– I mean, Website!
