A big part of being an eco aware citizen is knowing how and where your food is sourced. And there ain’t nothin’ more sustainable than your own backyard!

Alyssa Milano’s husband scored some major green points when he built the star her very own organic vegetable garden.

“For our one-year anniversary, my husband built me an organic vegetable garden,” Milano said, according to MNN. “I’m so obsessed with it. We just had our first salad, and it was absolutely scrumptious.”

Boasting vegetables like arugula, spinach, green beans, broccoli and tomatoes, it’s no surprise to us that Milano loves her garden. And as a longtime vegetarian and outspoken advocate of green causes, we’re sure she appreciates the ecological value, as well.

“It’s our responsibility to make the changes that we need to make,” says Milano, “regardless of convenience.”

Veld donates money to farm animals and also serves them

Lest we be confused that their giant V logo stands for anything other than Veld.

Trading beef for beans is not a solution, veganism is

Please do substitute beef for beans, but also have tofu instead of turkey, carrots instead of chicken, and I think you see where I’m going.

Assuming we can extort people into respecting the lives of others makes no sense.
