In a new ad for PETA, singer Lance Bass is speaking up for rescued animals and reminding future pet owners to always adopt!

In the video advertisement, Lance shares his experiences with adopted animals (he’s had eight) and recalls first learning about pet overpopulation.

“You know when I was a kid watching ‘Price Is Right,’ I would always hear Bob [Barker] say, ‘Help control the pet population: Get your dogs spayed or neutered,” says Lance. “People are not spaying and neutering like they should be, and there’s just so many dogs that really need a loving home.”

According to PETA, 6 to 8 million animals enter shelters each year and half of them must be euthanized because there aren’t enough homes. To help combat this problem, Bass suggests always adopting and also spaying or neutering your pets.
