Miss America 2011 Teresa Scanlan To Focus On Eating Disorders
The youngest Miss America ever was crowned last night — with 17-year-old Teresa Scanlan taking home the top prize.
The Gering, Nebraska native has announced that she will use her new title to help women prevent and conquer eating disorders. An estimated 8 million Americans have an eating disorder – seven million women and one million men
She hopes to attend law school, become a judge and eventually a politician, according to the Miss America website.
Miss America 2010, Caressa Cameron from Virginia, 22, was a goodwill ambassador for the Children’s Miracle Network, and spent the year helping raise awareness for HIV/AIDS.
