Ricky Gervais, one of our favorite animal activists, was once again the host last night for the 2011 Golden Globe Awards.

Like monologues of past, the comedian managed to awkwardly offend everyone from Johnny Depp to Angelina Jolie to Cher. Said Robert Downey Jr. later, “Aside from the fact that it’s been hugely mean-spirited with mildly sinister undertones, I’d say the vibe of the show is pretty good so far.”
