On February 4th, Prince will be headlining a charity event to raise money for the Goss-Michael Foundation.

Guests at the soiree, called theEvent (which is no cheap ticket), will be entertained by Prince with a special guest appearance by Erykah Badu.

George Michael and his partner Kenny Goss created the foundation in 2007 to provide a forum for British contemporary art in Dallas by organizing “exhibitions, programs and resources to educate, engage and inspire youth and adult audiences.” In addition to the gallery, the foundation offers scholarships, internships and contests for youth interested in the arts.

Tickets are still available, although the cheapest seats are $1500 and a table costs $25,000. In addition to being serenaded by Prince, guests will be treated to food, spirits, a DJ and a silent auction.

The world needs more vegans because more than dollars or pledges or sad-emoji riddled posts, our individual efforts can stop the demand for horns, for zoos, for animal flesh, and for the exploitation of any living being.

Criticize veganism, but don’t discredit it

Oppressive and harmful behaviour has no place in a movement rooted in anti-oppression.

Filing a case in the courts is a time-consuming and expensive affair and, sadly, doomed to fail because, by and large, the laws of the land reflect the views of the people.
