Though ‘Gasland’ didn’t win this year’s Oscar for Best Documentary, director Josh Fox is making sure the fight against natural gas “hydrofracking” continues to remain in the public discourse.

Variety is reporting that the activist is teaming up with actor Mark Ruffalo through the newly launched Water Defense initiative to launch a number of summer and fall concert series benefiting clean water awareness.

“One of the great ways to get people interested is through providing a good time,” Fox told the site. “Every movement has to have a party — if it’s not fun, it’s not going to work.”

The natural gas industry, which heavily lobbied the Academy Awards to drop the film’s nomination, will be less than thrilled to hear that Fox has not one but possibly two more movies planned. HBO already plans on showing the sequel – which the director says will focus on the industry’s influence in media and politics.
