“Bones” star Emily Deschanel is one of our eco-favorites; she’s a vegan, was honored by The Humane Society of the United States with the “Humane Advocate Award,” and is a major animal rights advocate. So we’re super excited about the fact that she’s pregnant with her first child!

Deschanel is reportedly due later this year, expecting with her husband David Hornsby.

Congratulations! We can’t wait to welcome this little vegan baby into the world!

    Are the kids really going to be vegan? I don’t know enough about Emily Deschanel (or Alicia Silverstone and Alyssa Milano for that matter) but I know several people who are vegan or vegetarian themselves, but their partners aren’t, and they don’t raise their child vegan or vegetarian.

      Emily has been a long time Vegan she’s been vegan since she was about 15 or at least started going vegan then. I think from what I remember that her husband is vegan as well so I believe she will be raising the child as a vegan too it’s what I’d do myself if I ever end up having a child.

    I am pretty sure Emily’s husband, David Hornsby, is not Vegan or even vegetarian. I have read that in more than one place (but since I read it online, who knows?)
    I think it would be hard to be Vegan and live with someone who isn’t. Anyone out there vegan and have a spouse who isn’t?
