Earth Day 2011 happens to fall on a Friday this year, which means even more opportunities to raise awareness to the causes that are near and dear to you by throwing eco-friendly parties.

The Hollywood A-list is no different, and this Earth Day they will be celebrating in style at the “Eco Hollywood Earth Day” event at the Montage Beverly Hills in Los Angeles.

Celebs like Ed Begley Jr., Angie Everhart, Casper Van Dien of Starship Troopers, Debby Ryan of the Suite Life, Hope Dworaczyk from Celebrity Apprentice, James Van Der Beek , Mayim Bialik of the Big Bang Theory, Sharon Lawrence from the Green Wish Foundation, Tim Urban of American Idol fame, and Chuck‘s Vik Sahay will be in attendance. Once there they’ll be treated to live music, organic nibbles, and a “Green” room where eco luxury products will be displayed and showcased to prove just how extraordinary going green can be (think eco-wear, jewelry, handbags, shoes, lingerie, hair & organic skincare, etc).

A major part of the evening will also be raising money and awareness toward the cause, which means celebs will be on hand to sign products that will be donated to charity to raise funds, and a half-hour TV special called “Eco Hollywood” will be taped and aired on CBS following the event.

In addition, the non-profit organization Green Wish will be filming celeb PSA’s on site, those pieces will then be added to a documentary film that’s being narrated by Begley.

Stop calling vegan food “cruelty-free”

Many vegans proudly proclaim that their food is “cruelty-free” as though issues of justice and injustice begin and end with our use of nonhuman animals.

My Parents Forced Veganism on Me

If vegan parents don’t “force” their vegan values and beliefs on their children, society won’t hesitate to “force” standard American values instead.
