“Everyone has to find what is right for them, and it is different for everyone. Eating for me is how you proclaim your beliefs three times a day. That is why all religions have rules about eating. Three times a day, I remind myself that I value life and do not want to cause pain to or kill other living beings. That is why I eat the way I do.”

- Natalie Portman in a new interview with the New Zealand Herald. Click through to read her other thoughts on fashion, charity, and her favorite moment of the day. (P.S. She hates coffee – which is truly, my favorite moment of the day.)

Uma atriz tão talentosa e linda como ela, é muito bom ver que além de tudo tem consciencia e deixa isso publico de forma a estimular quem gosta dela (acho dificil alguem nao gostar!)

Such a talented and beautiful lady, it’s nice to see she also has a conscien and is not afraid to put it out there.

What does that mean? Is she back to calling herself a vegan? I thought she was eating/drinking milk products because of her pregnancy.

last time i checked , the dairy industry caused more pain and suffering than the meat industry.
So that ms Portman, an educated and outspoken person says that she don’t want to cause pain, sounds like an empty phrase to me.

She does have a conscious. Even though she is eating eggs while pregnant, she is getting them from her friend Charlotte Laws who has chickens in her yard in California. The chickens are treated like queens and will never be slaughtered. Good for Natalie.
