Farm Sanctuary is one of the biggest names in farm animal advocacy. Between the two idyllic sanctuaries where animals live like animals instead of like commodities and all their work to better the conditions for farm animals suffering in the factory farming system, FS has got it going on. Perhaps that’s why their galas are some of the hottest most star studded events in the animal movement.

This Saturday at Cipriani in NYC will be no different. Celebrities like Chevy Chase, Russell Simmons, Rory Freedman, Carol Leifer, Wendie Malick, Kathy Najimy, Eric Roberts, Loretta Swit, Fred Willard and Nellie McKay will all be there to support the work done by Farm Sanctuary.

Attendees will dine on a special vegan menu created jointly by chef and president of The Field Roast Grain Meat Company and honoree, David Lee and the Cipriani staff. Even if you can’t make it to the event, don’t worry. They will be releasing the recipes to the public to show just how good vegan dining can be.

Mastermind behind Vegan Treats Danielle Konya will also be there with her Animal Planet crew filming as a part of the new reality show that is slated to premiere in July. Guests at the event will indulge in decadent sweets made by the vegan baking goddess. I’m sure the cameras will be there to catch every mouth watering bite.

Co-founder of Farm Sanctuary Gene Baur said about this milestone gala, “Twenty-five years ago I couldn’t have predicted the profound effect Farm Sanctuary would have on how our society views and treats farm animals. We still have a long way to go and events like this are important milestones on the road to renewing our empathy and compassion.”

Tickets are still available, so grab yours now. If you can’t be there, have no fear. Ecorazzi will be there to cover the event and will give you all the juicy details.
