Actress Candice Accola knows all about what it’s like to be a newbie from her role as the freshly turned vamp on “Vampire Diaries,” and now she’s taking on another new job: designer.

The 23-year-old has teamed up with fashion line Show Me Your Mumu to create a unique tunic that will be up for sale through the month of May to raise awareness and funds for Lyme disease.

“I am beyond excited to bring awareness to a disease that many people know so little about. A disease that has taken away a lifetime of opportunities from my friend, Teri Raser,” Accola explained.

Because of her personal experience with the disease, Accola joined forces with Cammy Hebert and Cologne Schmidt, the clothing lines designers, to craft a one-of-a-kind tunic that would also serve as a tribute to her friend.

The “BIRD” tunic, named on behalf of Teri’s family nickname, retails for $80 with 50% of the proceeds going to the Turn The Corner foundation, which educates about Lyme disease. The tunic dress (pictured) showcases a tribal print, with hints of lime green, lavender, and soft browns that would be a perfect little outfit to slip on for summer!
