Big congrats of the day goes to Ellen DeGeneres and her talk show, which earned a whopping 12 Daytime Emmy nominations— more than any other in that category!

Her competition includes shows like the Today Show, The View, and The Oprah Winfrey Show, but we’re rooting for Ellen because she’s such an animal rights warrior.

This year alone, The Ellen DeGeneres Show has encouraged its viewers to sign a petition to bring an end to the yearly seal hunt in Canada, and brought on guests like vegan author Kathy Freston to show viewers at home how easy going veg can be.

Plus, Ellen and her partner,  Portia de Rossi, have become active proponents of Farm Sanctuary, a group which provides a safe haven for farm animals (as opposed to the slaughter house), and PETCO recognized her role in animal rights by presenting her with their HOPE award.

The Daytime Emmy Awards are set to air on June 19th on CBS— we’ll be tuning in! Will you?
