The hat choices at the royal wedding caused quite a bit of commotion in the press. Perhaps none so much as the piece worn by Princess Beatrice.

Some loved it. Some said it looked like an insane pretzel. But as far as press goes, it received almost as much attention as Pippa Middleton.

Princess Beatrice is using all that publicity to raise money for two great causes. The hat, designed by Philip Treacy, is being auctioned off on ebay with proceeds going to support UNICEF and Children in Crisis. Currently, the hat is up to £5,600. For all of you desperate to have a bit of memorabilia from the royal wedding, the auction is staying up until May 22nd.

The royal fashion risk taker said about the donation, “I’ve been amazed by the amount of attention that hat has attracted. It’s a wonderful opportunity to raise as much money as possible for two fantastic charities. I hope whoever wins the auction has as much fun with the hat as I have.”
