Samsung held their annual Hope for Children charity gala in New York last night, and A-list celebs like John Legend, Jason Mraz, Jennifer Lopez, and Demi Moore were in attendance to help raise money for children in need.

Nearly 800 people attended and over $1.4 million was raised to support more than 30 charities and 400 schools that all focus on children’s education, sustainability, and healthcare.

Former president Bill Clinton was honored with the Samsung Hope For Children Ambassador Award on behalf of all his work with the William J. Clinton Foundation.

And musical highlights included Legend and Mraz taking the stage to sing their very own version of Bob Marley‘s anthem ‘Redemption Song,’ along with Harry Connick, Jr. performing to raise awareness for the New Orleans Habitat Musicians’ Village.

The world needs more vegans because more than dollars or pledges or sad-emoji riddled posts, our individual efforts can stop the demand for horns, for zoos, for animal flesh, and for the exploitation of any living being.

Criticize veganism, but don’t discredit it

Oppressive and harmful behaviour has no place in a movement rooted in anti-oppression.

Filing a case in the courts is a time-consuming and expensive affair and, sadly, doomed to fail because, by and large, the laws of the land reflect the views of the people.
