Natalie Portman, a longtime supporter of micro-financing, and Zoe Saldana just came out with new PSA’s for FINCA’s online donation program, Lend a Hand.

The two actresses each filmed their own PSA talking about just how far a dollar can go when it’s loaned out to women in need. These women use the funds to start their own business, and in the process create jobs in their communities, feed their families, send their kids to school and lift themselves out of poverty.

The best part? Once the loan is repaid, it goes to help another woman in need and the cycle starts all over again. One donation has the potential to help countless women and families.

Portman said about the program, “There is no better gift than giving women living in poverty the ability to provide for themselves and their families.”

Saldana went on to say, “Through this campaign, we hope to educate people about Lend A Hand, and show how a small loan can change the lives of so many women living in poverty—and better the lives of their children.”
