We told you about the announcement that Daniel Radcliffe would be this year’s recipient of the Trevor Hero Award from The Trevor Project, a national organization that provides support and resources to LGBTQ youth in an effort to decrease suicide rates. And on Monday, June 27th the Trevor LIVE in NYC event will take place and honor Radcliffe with an evening of comedy, music, dinner, a silent auction, and awards, to help spread awareness and support for the cause.
“The fact that they think of what I’ve done by promoting awareness of the Trevor Project itself and the issues that it works to promote and help is a great honor…the people that are doing the heroic things are the people answering phones 24 hours a day in the Trevor call centers,” Radcliffe said of the award. “I think that out of everything that I have done so far in my career, I think this is absolutely one of the most important, if not the most important, thing that I’m associated with.”
Other celebs that are expected to be in attendance include Amy Poehler, Kelly Ripa, Robin Williams, Johnny Weir, and Janeane Garofalo, and you can buy your own ticket and support the cause here— though, fair warning, the cheap seats are $350 a pop.
