Boy do I hope this one is true. Aliens in my lifetime? Yes, please.
Andrei Finkelstein, a Russian scientist, said on Monday, “Life exists on other planets and we will find it within 20 years.”
He noted that 10% of planets orbiting suns resemble earth. If water exists, which it has proven to do on other planets, then life can exist.
Finkelstein says that extraterrestrials will most likely look like humans with two arms, two legs and a head. What, nothing resembling horses or turtles on other planets? If there is one type of life, you’d think the case would be made that there would be a large variety, like what we have here.
Since 1960 Finkelstein has been looking for signals from life on other planets, and even beaming out our own radio signals. That’s right, we’re a noisy planet, looking to reach out to others.
I just hope that Stephen Hawking was wrong when he said that aliens would be more interested in our resources rather than our friendship. But then again, that would be quite “human” of them, wouldn’t it.
