A whole gaggle of artists including Moby, Alanis Morissette, Maroon 5, Peter Gabriel, Iggy Pop, Tom Waits, Ben Folds and Daryl Hannah have contributed songs for a digital album that will raise funds for the David Lynch Foundation.

The money will go towards helping at-risk populations who may suffer from epidemic levels of chronic stress and stress-related disorders by teaching them how to implement techniques of managing stress like Transcendental Meditation.

Lynch said about the album, “The artists who have shared their music are spreading happiness. With their music alone they’re supporting programs that take away suffering and bring bliss to many people.”

I haven’t been able to watch a David Lynch film since he scared me under the table with Mulholland Drive, but this foundation sounds like it’s doing interesting work by helping people with issues ranging from PTSD to depression to diabetes. Learn more on the David Lynch Foundation website.
