Sometimes an unlikely hero swoops in to save the day! In this case, it was a little chihuahua who apparently is unaware he’s so little!

On July 7th, two robbers went into a Los Angeles cigar store and demanded money from the store owner at gunpoint. The owner, Erik Knight, was in the process of putting money into a backpack for them when his dog Paco decided he had something to say about the situation. Paco barked at the two men, who left the store running after pointing their gun at both Knight and Paco. According to the Huffington Post, the robbers got away with $200, but nobody was hurt.

Paco’s human friend loves him right back. “When I saw them pointing a gun at Paco, it just kind of sent a chill up my back,” he told ABC 7. He also pointed out that Paco was adopted from an animal shelter, and clearly rescues can go both ways! “He was rescued, so I suggest everybody rescue a dog from the pound,” said Knight. “You never know when you’re going to need him.”

Check out the video of Paco’s heroic day!
