Whoopi Goldberg has reached out and adopted a kitten. This isn’t your ordinary cat, but one that was thrown from a moving car last month in New York City.

The View co-host was moved so much by the incident, she decided to take action and give him a home.

The feline was rescued and found wedged by a barrier on the Verrazano Bridge, after being tossed out of a car. He was then taken to the New York Animal Care & Control center.

The Russian Blue breed spent two months in the center, before Goldberg was allowed to take him home.

“I adopted him and I was finally able to take him home,” the actress wrote on her Facebook page.

Originally the cat was named Verrazano, after the bridge where he was found, but Goldberg changed it up and now calls him “Vinny.”

Vinny’s story made a huge impact in the animal community and 140 adoption applications were sent in by animal lovers to give him a home, but Goldberg was the lucky one to become his new owner.
