Leonardo DiCaprio doesn’t let his job or being out of the country stop him in his green tracks. The well-known actor has chosen to reside in an eco-friendly home while filming The Great Gatsby in Australia.

Known for his environmental activism, DiCaprio’s new green home is one of the only pseudo-carbon neutral homes within the Sydney city limits. The house is a domestic combination heating project. Urban Energy, a power-preserving company, also installed a high-tech solar energy system which enables the establishment to be heated from one source. This even includes hot water, the pool and spa.

The home was built three years ago by Gillian and Alastair Walton, the chairman of BKK Partners, an investment bank firm. They are privately leasing the house to DiCaprio. His new girlfriend Blake Lively has even had the opportunity to stay at the eco-dwelling.

According to the Herald Sun, the actor won’t be staying much longer and is looking to move somewhere more private, since the paparazzi seem to be invading his space.

No worries, DiCaprio remains loyal to the environment and recently purchased a $100,000 hybrid super car. He has also been known for his efforts for universal access to clean water and reducing fossil fuel emissions. The Oscar nominee also created, produced and narrated a documentary, The 11th Hour, about global warming.
