Tonight, a fashion event with a cause hits Manhattan. The event will help to provide NYC students with healthy school lunches.

The Healthy Food in Fashion Fall Gala will be hosted by Robin Quivers and feature special guests Majora Carter, Jayni Chase, Lisa and Joel Fuhrman MD, and Russell Simmons. Cruelty-free fashion from designers including John Bartlett, Tommy Hilfiger, Cri De Coeur, Heather Mills and Russell Simmons among others will be featured, along with vegan food from some of New York City’s best veg spots. Restaurants include Candle 79 and Candle Cafe, Red Bamboo, VSpot and many more.

All this, and there’s more! The event will benefit the NY Coalition Healthy School Food, an organization working to improve the healthy of New York students by providing healthy plant-based food, especially local and organic foods when possible. The coalition also creates “farm to school” programs, school gardens, and nutrition policies and education.  Tickets for the gala taking place from 6:30-9:30 this evening at the New York Academy of Medicine can no longer be purchased online, but lucky attendees can still buy tickets at the door!
