The first trailer for Dr. Seuss’s classic environmental fable “The Lorax” has hit the net – and it’s pretty darn stunning.

The animated tale, due out on March 2, 2012 (the 108th birthday of Seuss), tells the story of a boy who is searching for the one thing (a tree) that will win him the girl of his dreams. In order to find it, he must learn the story of The Lorax, a creature whose world is in danger. Actor Danny Devito provides the voice for the grumpy, orange Lorax – while Zac Efron, Betty White, Taylor Swift, and Ed Helms round out the rest of the cast.

MICHAEL – have you ever read the story of THE LORAX? if you did why in the world would you refer to the Lorax as “grumpy” HE IS US! HE IS THE ENVIRONMENTALIST!!!!!!!!! you better update this post and delete grumpy and insert heroic!!!! even though he was unsuccessful in this INCREDIBLE original story, he teaches us all how important the environment is and how corporate greed kills.

I can’t wait for this movie. I wish it had my rhyme but it looks like it will be amazing. I know the book by heart so I’m sure this movie will be on my dvd rack when it becomes available. I’m wondering though if the production of the movie was green and if any of the proceeds will benefit environmental projects. That would make it even better to see and more worthwhile to view in the theater, IMO.
