The sultry Sofia Vergara has been climbing the charts in the acting world ever since she was cast on ABC’s hit comedy ‘Modern Family’ as the hilarious and sexy Gloria. She’s continuing to make a name for herself and now, it’s in the health world.
The Emmy and Golden Globe nominee is launching a health website, SuperVida.com, with boxer Oscar de la Hoya in 2012. In an interview with Primer Ahora, Vergara explained that being diagnosed with thyroid cancer was her motivation to create an educational place about health issues for Hispanics.
“We are going to launch a website called SuperVida, dedicated to educating Hispanic families on health issues that most affect us. There are 50 million Hispanics in this country and there is not a resource like this and we need it. It is going to be revolutionary to better and save lives,” the Colombian actress said.
This isn’t the first time Vergara has demonstrated her philanthropic efforts. Recently, she was named Co-chair of BeLive, an event that raises money for four Colombian non-profit organizations.
