Kevin Bacon, John Stamos and other celebs are calling for support to end world hunger.

The actors are asking their fans to donate to Bread for the World to help feed those in need. According to a press release from the organization, the new holiday fundraising campaign was started by Bacon’s charity SixDegrees.org and the Network for Good. Bacon said, “I woke up this morning and had a good meal, but millions of people didn’t. We at SixDegrees.org are excited to promote ‘6 Days of Good for Hunger’ to bring attention to the cause and inspire giving, especially this time of year.”

During the campaign from December 1-6, Bacon and Stamos will be joined by Lindsay Lohan, Jeff Bridges, Charlie Sheen and Jeff Gordon who will all ask their fans to send in donations. Bread for the World President Rev. David Beckmann said, “One in six Americans – including 16 million children – lives in a house where they don’t get enough to eat. We are thankful that Kevin Bacon and John Stamos are using their celebrity to raise awareness about hunger and the work Bread for the World is doing to end it.”

The celebrities will be using Facebook and Twitter to get the word out to their fans to donate to the organization as well as local food banks. Stamos tweeted, “$46 feeds a family of 4 for a month. Join me,@KevinBacon & @bread4theworld 2 end hunger! #sixdegrees. Please RT say.ly/Wad14tp.”

My Parents Forced Veganism on Me

If vegan parents don’t “force” their vegan values and beliefs on their children, society won’t hesitate to “force” standard American values instead.
