If Hugh Jackman stood in front of you and asked you to donate money for charity, could you really say no? Me neither. Much to the delight of the organization Broadway Cares, neither can audience members at his one-man show, ‘Back on Broadway.’

If you’ve ever been to a New York City show, you know that at the end they ask people to open up their hearts and wallets to support Broadway Cares/Equity Fights AIDS. Turns out, Jackman’s appeals for cash after his performance have been bringing in big bucks for their campaign. He’s raised $857,740 in just three weeks, and he still has three weeks left to go.

The money isn’t coming from the spare change people have in their wallets. Jackman is auctioning off T-shirts he wore in the show, some of which have gone for 10 grand a pop.

Although, he’s telling a different story about his fundraising methods. He joked, “You have no idea how much sex I’ve been having.”

Have you seen the show?
