Robert Downey Jr. Rescues Two Kittens

Since starring as Tony Stark in “Iron Man,” Robert Downey Jr. has been taking his role as superhero pretty seriously. It seems the actor recently rescued two kittens.

The 46-year-old covers the January/February issue of Men’s Fitness and discussed his act of kindness with the magazine.

“Eighteen months ago, I’m saying, ‘I don’t want any rescue pets within 100 yards of either of my residences, I’m sorry. I don’t want some, like, tripod, abused animal.’ I was adamantly opposed to the whole idea. And now I couldn’t imagine living without them. I’ve become one of those people where the Missus is like, ‘They don’t want to see iPhone pictures of our kittens right now. Stop it.”

Downey reportedly rescued the two kittens from a bush in West Hollywood. ”Their names are Montgomery and Dartanian,” the actor added.

What a softy. Downey can next be seen in “Sherlock Holmes: A Game of Shadows” and will become a new daddy soon with wife Susan.

Yeah, we need more people like Robert Downey to help cats. Cats seem to get the short end of the stick so often, and when I hear of someone helping them, it really makes me happy. Hopefully, this action of Downey’s will encourage other people do help animals too!

I truly thank Robert for taking in 2 kitties, especially given his previous feelings, which he, himself, admitted to. Now, given his more-than-average wealth, I do not feel it rude to ask him to make a substancial donation to his local shelter, or any one of the animal rights organizations. I just don’t know if he’ll be reading this…….

The more love you give out, you get twice the love back. Your pets don’t care if you were selfish or unkind that day. They still love you. My dog Max follows me everywhere I go in the house. Just to be near me. Who else would do that?
