Pop superstar Justin Bieber just made Christmas wishes come true for students at an underprivileged school in Las Vegas.
Last month, during an interview with Ellen DeGeneres, Bieber promised to donate $100,000 to Whitney Elementary, a school with a 70% homeless student rate. After hearing about the school’s plight on an episode of Ellen’s show, Bieber was moved enough to come on the show and agree to match her donation of $100,000 to help the school, which takes care of homeless students by offering free or discounted lunches, providing clothes and helping with family bills.
And Bieber made good on his pledge on December 17, when he not only handed over the check, but also performed a private concert of acoustic Christmas songs for the students. As a bonus, he donated an additional $100,000 worth of Christmas presents, and retail giant Target also chipped in with another $100,000 donation.
The entire event was filmed for an upcoming episode of “The Ellen Degeneres Show,” so we’ll all get the chance to see Biebs in action. But this pretty much sums it up in a nutshell: according to 17-year-old Bieber fan Kiersten Umberger, the event was, “the best moment of my life.”
I’m pretty sure this generous act was enough to get him on Santa’s “nice” list this year.
