Richard Branson Helps Deliver Hearing Aids to Africa

When you’re a wealthy man who owns an airline, there are all sorts of good deeds you can do. Richard Branson, a man known for his many good deeds, teamed up with the Starkey Hearing Foundation to bring hearing aids to hearing impaired children and adults in Bushridge, Mpumalanga, South Africa.

Each of the 490 patients received their own custom fit hearing device at Branson’s Bhubezi Health Clinic. That’s just a drop in the bucket compared to the goal of 1,000,000 hearing aids Starkey Hearing Foundation wants to give to in-need patients by the end of this decade.

Branson said about the cause, “It was absolutely amazing to watch someone hear their first sounds. Starkey Foundation have profoundly impacted the lives of these 490 people and enabled them to live even fuller lives – something they all deserve.”

Branson isn’t the foundation’s only celebrity fan. Miley Cyrus has also done her part helping people in Haiti hear their first sounds. Quite apropos for a musician.
