Sean Penn was honored earlier this year for his humanitarian efforts in Haiti. Now, he will be in a star-studded PSA created by his J/P Haitian Relief Organization (J/P HRO).

According to The Hollywood Reporter, the video directed by actress Soleil Moon Frye stars Miley Cyrus, Zooey Deschanel, Edward Norton, Pras, Sarah Silverman, LL Cool J, and Eric Dane. Cyrus has also appeared in an auction video for J/P HRO, in which she takes a picture of herself and signs it as an auction item. Another video stars Rainn Wilson who has a script signed by the cast of The Office. Wilson jokes, “This little gem — hello — a cast-signed Office script worth billions. So much better than Edward Norton’s signed Illusionist DVD. Who even understood that movie?”

Penn’s auction video features a signed copy of the play The Time of Your Life by William Saroyan. Penn reads from the play, “Seek goodness everywhere and when it is found bring it out of its hiding place and let it be free and unashamed.” All of the videos ask for donations to J/P HRO’s Help Haiti Home campaign to help Haiti rebuild. The country is still struggling to recover from the earthquake that struck in January 2010.

Penn returned to Haiti this month with Oprah Winfrey. The two visited a survivor camp, once a golf course, and still home to people who were left with nowhere to go after the earthquake. The trip was filmed and will be featured as a special on Winfrey’s OWN network.

Part 1: One of History’s Earliest Ethical Vegan Voices

If the Syrian author of that poem could go vegan, anyone in our era can buck far milder social pressures and go vegan.
