George Clooney has cast his support for the Clinton Foundation through a special message to his fans. According to Look to the Stars, the actor put his name on a special message from the Clinton Foundation that encourages people to donate $1 with President Clinton matching each $1 with $2 of his own.

Clooney said in his message, “During my trips across Africa, I’ve seen firsthand how it’s possible to dramatically change entire communities for the better through simple innovations such as developing farmer cooperatives or providing access to high-quality fertilizer.

“Still, implementing simple solutions can be a serious challenge, requiring cooperation among large groups of people or governments to overcome hurdles along the way, as well as the commitment to see it through to completion.”

He goes on to expound on the reasons why he is in awe of former President Clinton and the work of the Clinton Foundation. He cites one program which improved harvests 240% and provided 30,000 people with food. He mentioned that the Clinton Foundation through Clinton’s leadership has brought people together to “make things happen.”

Clooney’s solicitation for money comes at the end of his letter where he says, “We can’t all go to Rwanda to teach better farming techniques. But today, you can join President Clinton and make your support go further by having your donation matched, $2 for every $1. Thank you for taking a stand against the world’s most pressing problems.”

It isn’t surprising that “The Descendants” star has cast his support with Mr. Clinton and his foundation. Clooney is a notable social activist who has served as the United Nations Messenger of Peace since 2008, is the co-founder of the Enough Project which initiated the Satellite Sentinel Project, and who has worked with Not On Our Watch to stop and prevent mass atrocities happening in the world.

Visit the Clinton Foundation if you wish to heed Clooney’s words and make a donation today.
