From one end of the spectrum to the other: the last time we heard from Mischa Barton, she was busy chewing on raw meat. But now it seems as though the actress has ditched the animal products.

For the past decade, Barton has been known more for her fluctuating weight, drug arrest and questionable fashion choices than for her roles. But she rang in the new year with a slimmer physique and a healthier mindset.

The actress was spotted in a bikini in Miami over the holidays, and was looking much more toned. Barton says that her new look is the result of “eating really healthy, keeping a mostly vegan diet and running.”

Way to go, Mischa! Hopefully we’ll be seeing more of the new and improved actress this year.
