“Portlandia”, the hit sketch-comedy series on IFC, is premiering its second-season tonight. For those that have yet to see the show, it features SNL cast member Fred Armisen and comedian/singer Carrie Brownstein – as well as lots of other guest celebs performing in vignettes centered around the city of Portland, Oregon.

One of my favorite moments from season one is a sketch titled “Is it Local?”. It features Peter and Nance asking their waitress some very deep questions about the life of the chicken they’re about to eat. You may know people like this. I know I’ve acted like this (not as crazy, but inquisitively-speaking, yes…) and I love the hilarity of it.

Check it out below.

  • I like this episode, even though the “farm” is a *little* bit unnerving. Another Portlandia classic is “Put A Bird On It” — where indie crafters love to incorporate birds in their creations — until they get face-to-face with a real bird.
