Ellen DeGeneres, a vegan and animal advocate, has often worked with Farm Sanctuary. She has been the spokesperson of their Adopt-A-Turkey campaign for the last two years, asking that you sponsor a turkey during Thanksgiving instead of eating one.

Now, DeGeneres has recorded a video in honor of Farm Sanctuary’s 25th year, and shares why she has been a longtime supporter of the organization. She says, “The thing I’m most proud of is my commitment to animals. It’s a cause that I share with Farm Sanctuary. Farm Sanctuary shows the world that animals are not only beautiful and gentle, but that they’re also individuals with unique personalities and wills to live.”

Ellen adds “On today’s factory farms, the animals are hidden from public view. That’s why Farm Sanctuary’s role in telling their stories is so important and so powerful. At Farm Sanctuary, animals who have suffered find love and kindness often for the first time. The animals are transformed and so are we. Thank you Farm Sanctuary for 25 years of leading the way to a more compassionate world.”

Watch the video from Ellen below, complete with footage of some of Farm Sanctuary’s adorable rescued residents.
