Besides for attending the actual show, Sir Elton John’s annual Oscar viewing party is the hottest ticket in town. For the last 20 years, the singer has been throwing one heck of a bash on Oscar night and raising funds for the Elton John AIDS Foundation.

He won’t be alone. Notable co-chairs of the event include Ted Danson, Ellen DeGeneres, Portia de Rossi, David Geffen, Neil Patrick Harris, Hugh Jackman, Sharon and Ozzy Osbourne, Tyler Perry, Sharon Stone, and Steven Tyler. Foster the People will also be performing.

Sponsored by Chopard, Neuro and Wells Fargo, the event will raise funds to be given out through Elton John’s foundation. They provide support for programs that “reduce the incidence of HIV/AIDS through innovative HIV prevention programs, efforts to eliminate stigma and discrimination associated with HIV/AIDS, and direct treatment and care services for people living with HIV/AIDS.”

Are you throwing an Oscar viewing party? If so, perhaps take some inspiration from Sir Elton, and raise some funds for charity too!
