Drew Barrymore may not be a vegetarian anymore, but that doesn’t mean she has given up her love of animals. The actress and her fiancé recently adopted a pup that had been fostered by Twilight star Nikki Reed.

Barrymore and Kopelman went over to the L.A. rescue store Bark N’ Bitches where she saw her soon-to-be new companion Biscuit.

The owner of the rescue facility Shannon von Roemer told WENN, “I know they were interested in the little boy puppy all along, but they wanted to come in and get a sense of the dog’s personality and make sure it would get along with their other dog.”

Von Roemer said about the actress, “That is just who Drew is – she has always been an amazing advocate for shelter dogs and I am just so proud that she chose to adopt a puppy from my store.”

Barrymore is one of many celebrities who have chosen to adopt instead of buy. To name a few, George Clooney, Jennifer Aniston, Miley Cyrus, Selena Gomez and Robert Downey Jr. have all found themselves enchanted by homeless dogs and cats.

Drew gushed on twitter about the new addition to her family by writing, “The boy puppy named Biscuit got adopted today!!!!”
