Each year the Humane Society of the United States honors major news and entertainment media for educating the public about the various issues that affect animals.

This year new vegetarian and “Dancing with the Stars” judge Carrie Ann Inaba will be hosting the star studded awards show.

Inaba said about the gig, “I’m honored to have been asked to host an awards show that is both a celebration and a consciousness raiser. In a busy awards season, The Genesis Awards stands out as an event that has true meaning in the larger scope of things– it’s the Oscars for animals and the people in the media who give voice to their plight.”

Look to the Stars reports that other celebs confirmed to be there include Kaley Cuoco, Bill Maher, Kristin Bauer and Pauley Perrette.

We’ll let you know when the list of nominees is released. Will some of our favorites make the list? Vegucated? The Whale? Either way, you can sit amongst the stars at the Beverly Hilton in Beverly Hills. Tickets for the event start at $200. To secure your seat to celebrate animal advocates in the media, visit HSUS.

Just wish they would support the shelters with some of the millions and millions of dollars. Less the 1% goes to helping fund the support of shelter animals
