As mentioned yesterday, Michelle Obama stopped by “The Tonight Show with Jay Leno” last night; talking about all things White House, but also urging the 61-year-old to eat healthier.

The First Lady presented Leno with a platter featuring apples, sweet potato fries and a pizza made with eggplant, green peppers and zucchini.

“That does smell very good. I assume this is sausage-pepperoni,” Leno quipped. Obama also urged him to dip the apples in some honey from the White House beehives saying, “It will help it go down easier.”

“White House honey? That sounds bad,” Leno told her. “You know, with a different president that could mean a whole different thing, ‘a little White House honey.'”

Leno famously once told a magazine that he hadn’t eaten a vegetable since 1969; with his last apple tasting back in 1984. In a tweet before her arrival Michelle said “she’d get Jay to eat some veggies” on his show. Mission accomplished.

Next up for the First Lady is a stop by “Ellen” today for a taping that will air tomorrow. As DeGeneres is a vegan, expect the love for vegetables to be mutual.

Check out a clip of Michelle’s appearance below.

  • Lol. That’s pretty funny. I think it’s pretty cool that there is a bigger push for veggies. I started relearning the way I look at food. Truly Raw (on kindle) has been a great inspiration in getting me and my family started!
