Pamela Anderson recently opened up about her love of giving back to charity. Her causes often involve advocating for animals, from speaking out against using glue traps to catch mice and rats to calling for an end to horse-drawn carriages in New York City.

Now, she is asking her Twitter followers to show some love on February 14th by giving a gift that also helps animals. Anderson tweeted today, “Spread the love this Valentine’s Day http://fb.me/189w8qF1b.”

Her tweet links to the California Wildlife Center’s ‘Adopt-an-Animal‘ page. The organization rescues and rehabilitates wild animals that are injured, orphaned or sick and then returns them to their wild habitat. Their Wildlife Adoption Kits help to sponsor the animals in their care.

The Center says that donations help them provide food, medications and care for the animals, as well as conduct research about diseases among wildlife and educate the public about the importance of conservation.

So, if you’re thinking about sponsoring one of the animals in honor of Valentine’s Day – you can “adopt” your choice of animal friend, from a mourning dove ($30) to a fawn ($100)! The California Wildlife Center also sends an adoption certificate and photo, a fact sheet on the species, and a plush toy of your adopted animal.

I wonder which one Pamela will choose?
